Competition karate at SEISHIN gives students the opportunity to challenge themselves beyond regular dojo training, developing confidence, technical ability, composure and competitive experience through Kata and Kumite.
Precision. Control. Performance.
Students develop technical accuracy, power, rhythm, presentation and the confidence required to perform individually under pressure.
Speed. Strategy. Courage.
Athletes develop distance, timing, reaction, tactical awareness and controlled competitive fighting skills.
From our youngest students stepping onto the tatami for the first time to experienced national and international athletes, competition provides an opportunity to test skills, build confidence and celebrate progress.
Hosted by SEISHIN Martial Arts Academy, the SMAA Karate Championships provides students across all ages and experience levels with an opportunity to compete in a professionally organised championship environment.
From our 3–6 year-old Peewees taking their first steps onto the tatami, right through to our Senior and Veteran competitors, the championship celebrates development, courage, sportsmanship and competitive excellence.
For athletes who choose to pursue competitive karate at a higher level, SEISHIN provides additional competition-specific training in Kata and Kumite.
Training focuses on technical refinement, tactical development, conditioning, competition strategy & rules, mental preparation and tournament performance.
